Online Business Exchange (OBE) is a Canadian-operated marketplace for buying and selling online businesses, launched in November 2026 by Peter Stevens, operator of a small network of online marketplaces.
OBE exists because the existing options fit small online businesses poorly: brokerages need deals large enough to justify percentage commissions, and the large marketplaces charge on the sale as well as to list. For a newsletter, a micro-SaaS, a Shopify app, a content site, or a store doing modest, real numbers, that maths can eat the exit.
So OBE runs on three rules. Flat fees only — advertising fees, never a percentage of a sale, never a success fee. A venue, never a broker — we advertise and introduce; the parties negotiate, diligence, and close directly with their own advisors; we hold no funds and provide no escrow. Labelled figures — every number in a listing states where it came from (Seller-stated / Evidence supplied / Data-connected), because a marketplace should never dress a seller’s claim up as its own fact.
OBE is new and the directory starts empty. We would rather earn the first five listings honestly than invent a marketplace that doesn’t exist yet.
